Course overview
This 3-hour course is for anyone considering a supervisory position or who has been practicing as a clinical supervisor. It provides an overview of supervision models, roles and responsibilities of supervisors including ethical and legal issues, and discussion of the developmental model of supervision as it applies to counselors and supervisors. A self-inventory, discussion questions and case scenarios are available for students to apply the course material. Additional resources are listed at the end of each module. Goals: 1. To increase knowledge about clinical supervision models 2. To increase knowledge about professional issues in supervision 3. To provide resources that can assist in ongoing supervisor development Objectives: 1. Complete a self-inventory that examines the supervisory role 2. Increase self-awareness about professional development as a supervisor 3. Increase knowledge and skills in applying a model of supervision 4. increase knowledge and skills in ethical decision making as a supervisor
