Poisoning and Overdose

Course overview

This course highlights how poisons enter the body and the emergency care of poisoning and overdose. Emergency care can consist of antidotes, decontamination, administration of activated charcoal, or supportive care until the patient is transferred to specialty providers. The course also highlights the latest data trends in toxic exposures and provides additional sources of information that emergency medical personnel can access to expand and keep their toxicology knowledge current.
