AN AIR LEAK IS THE LEAKAGE OF AIR FROM AN AIR-CONTAINING CAVITY INTO SPACES THAT, UNDER NORMAL CIRCUMSTANCES, DO NOT CONTAIN AIR. THE TERM AIR LEAK SYNDROME IS USED TO DESCRIBE SYMPTOMS OF RESPIRATORY DISTRESS OCCURRING IN CONJUNCTION WITH AN AIR LEAK. THIS ACTIVITY REVIEWS THE EVALUATION AND MANAGEMENT OF AIR LEAKS AND HIGHLIGHTS THE ROLE OF THE INTERPROFESSIONAL TEAM IN THE CARE OF PATIENTS WITH THIS CONDITION.
