MIDGUT MALROTATION IS A DEFECT IN THE NORMAL EMBRYONIC ROTATION OF THE GUT, WHICH CAUSES AN ABDOMINAL OBSTRUCTION THAT PRESENTS ACUTELY OR WITH CHRONIC INTERMITTENT GASTROINTESTINAL SYMPTOMS, IT MUST BE PROMPTLY DIAGNOSED AND TREATED TO AVOID THE SEVERE CONSEQUENCES OF SMALL BOWEL NECROSIS. THIS ACTIVITY REVIEWS THE PRESENTATION, EVALUATION, TREATMENT, AND COMPLICATIONS OF MIDGUT MALROTATION AND HIGHLIGHTS THE ROLE OF THE INTERPROFESSIONAL TEAM IN EVALUATING AND TREATING PATIENTS WITH THIS CONDITION.
