Course overview
Occupational therapy professionals play a critical role in maximizing patients' function and minimizing the risk of adverse outcomes for individuals undergoing treatment for breast cancer. This course reviews the surgical procedures for breast cancer, the impact of surgery on clinical presentation and occupational performance, key recovery issues including the impact of chemotherapy and radiation, and potential complications after surgery. The goal of this course is to educate occupational therapy professionals on the surgical management of breast cancer and therapeutic interventions to support patients in their recovery.
