Course overview

The goal of this training is to improve clinicians understanding of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) strategies in helping clients cope with ongoing (and/or complex) trauma. This course will provide an overview of Post traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, and the basics of DBT strategies to help afflicted clients reduce suffering. In this presentation Charles Jacob, will cover treatment strategies that will include improving empathy to improve the therapeutic relationship, the basics of mood regulation strategies, and the use of specific coping skills (TIP, PLEASED, etc.) to reduce suffering overall.
