Course overview

This course explores scholarly definitions of the role of a mentor, and why it is useful to use mentors in the prevention of substance use. In addition, known benefits to mentoring will be presented, both for mentors and mentees, and the growing evidence about the effectiveness of mentoring. Information on intergenerational mentoring and peer mentoring will also be presented, as well as determining whether one may need a mentoring program or not.
