(HS 065312 Denes 2023) Clinical Implications of Inflammation & Autoimmunity in Neurological Diseases
Tracking # 20-1077352
Course overview
When inflammation is commonly addressed by rehab professionals, the presence of systemic inflammation is a very different and unique contributing presentation of no less importance. COVID-19, the rise in autoimmune disorders and a growing link of inflammation in neurological diseases furthers the importance of having a baseline understanding of the physiology of systemic inflammation. You will gain insight of the interplay of inflammation, the immune system, and the autonomic nervous system. Application will emphasize the impact on ROM, stiffness, pain, edema, endurance, fatigue, neuroplasticity and more. We will investigate cytokines in COVID-19 and autoimmunity in neurological diseases, namely multiple sclerosis, Parkinsons Disease and Guillain-Barre Syndrome.
