Course overview

More than a buzzword, compassion-focused therapy (CFT) is an evidence-supported model for treating the shame and self-criticism that often co-occur with mental illness and substance use disorders. CFT is applicable in trauma-informed treatment settings. This profound treatment approach isnt about being more compassionate as a therapist, its about encouraging clients to be compassionate to themselves & others, which triggers an emotional response that is essential to well-being. In this presentation, Dr. Robert cox will discuss about compassion and its utility as a treatment for negative moods.
