Advanced Practice Barretts Esophagus
Tracking # 20-1080158
Course overview
Barrett's esophagus is acquired over time due to severe injury to the esophageal lining. It may occur as a result of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) or without the occurrence of GERD. It can exist as a benign condition or it may develop into cancer of the esophagus. Patient survival depends on correct diagnosis, screening/surveillance and treatment. Treatment options, such as acid suppression, chemoprevention, ablation therapy and surgery are discussed.
