Course overview
This course addresses the epidemic of implicit bias toward women receiving healthcare. Although half the worlds population, women historically have carried biased labels such as hysteria, leading to medical injustices and gaslighting. They continue to battle arduous barriers to receive healthcare equality. This course will also discuss common implicit biases encountered by women from the lens of fictional scenarios based on some real-life stories. There are multiple implicit biases that are specific to vulnerable communities. However, the scope of this course will attempt to provide some various discussion points identified by women seeking healthcare. When you are a member of a healthcare team, you play a part in mitigating and minimizing implicit biases toward women in healthcare.
