This course offers foundational information on SI Joint pain/dysfunction including diagnostic challenges of primary SI Joint pain, anatomical and biomechanical deficits that contribute to SI Joint pain, and nonsurgical treatment strategies. It provides an overview of common nonsurgical treatment approaches and reported efficacy of interventions. In addition, this course includes a Clinical Application: Diagnostic: How to perform and interpret specific clustered SI Joint Pain-Provocative Tests.

Course Goals
Upon completion of this course, the Therapist will:
1. Be able to IDENTIFY patients with primary SI Joint pain/dysfunction, including anatomical and biomechanical deficits that contribute to SI Joint pain.
2. Learn various treatment approaches and efficacy of common interventions used to treat SI Joint pain.
3. Be able to objectively PERFORM and INTERPRET specialized orthopedic physical exam tests used to evaluate the origin of SI Joint pain, based on CLINICAL APPLICATION - Clinical Screening - Clustered Pain-Provocative Tests.
Course Objectives
1. Learn fundamental disease facts and diagnosis complexity.
2. Learn and Review ANATOMY and BIOMECHANICS of the SI Joint and how these contribute to pain.
3. Learn various Treatment Approaches — Interventions and Efficacy, including: Pain Reduction, Therapeutic Exercise, Manual Therapy, SI Joint Belting, Orthotics, Joint Injections, and Nerve Ablations
4. CLINICAL APPLICATION: Learn How to PERFORM & INTERPRET Clustered Pain-Provocative Tests for SI Joint pain, including: FABER, Thigh Thrust, Gaenslen’s, Distraction, Sacral Thrust, and Compression.
