A Healthy Home for Children
Tracking # 20-1083984
Course overview
Children are particularly vulnerable to hazards in their environment. One out of every 5 children dies from unintentional and preventable injuries, and over 2 million children younger than 10 are seen in the emergency department (ED) for nonfatal (CDC, 2020; Safe Kids Worldwide, 2022). For children, the leading causes of injury are drowning, poisoning, suffocation, fire, and transportation related. While dangers in and around the home are numerous, there are many ways of effectively preventing accidental injuries and promoting safe behaviors for parents and children.
