Health Disparities as Understood Through Social Determinants of Health

Course overview

This course gives information to healthcare professionals about health disparities between the general population and communities that experience marginalization. Examples of intersectional health disparities and definitions of foundational language are included. The course addresses some of the causes of health inequities, including implicit bias and social determinants of health. The course concludes with tools that providers can use to recognize and address health disparities that may be occurring in their healthcare setting.
