Course overview

This webinar will focus on evidence-based interventions for cognitive skills, addressing methodology for direct practice and strategies for long-term retention. We will begin with a review of neuroscience research on human brain organization of cognitive functions and then discuss evidence-based research on how those capacities develop in children and are rehabilitated in adults. The webinar will focus on best practices for habilitation and rehabilitation of cognitive regulatory executive functions. This content is designed for clinical application by speech-language pathologists and occupational therapists who work with children or adults for whom cognitive issues interfere with long-term treatment outcomes. This course is specifically designed to expand the therapeutic knowledge base to include evidence-based approaches that enhance regulatory auditory, visual, and motor executive skills, including working memory, organization, problem-solving, and cognitive flexibility.
