Course overview
Heart disease is the leading cause of death among Americans (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention [CDC], 2023). One of the risk factors for heart disease is high serum cholesterol. Early interventions that combine lifestyle behavior changes and pharmacological treatments can improve outcomes. This course will provide an overview of cholesterol and the interventions needed for the treatment and management of cholesterol. This course will use story-based learning, review questions, and real-world examples to engage the learner as they develop the skills necessary to care for patients with high cholesterol. The goal of this course is to educate the healthcare team on the management and treatment of cholesterol for healthcare professionals.
