Interdisciplinary Approach to Female Pelvic Pain: Case Studies (Recorded Webinar)

Format and structure may differ from those of standard MedBridge courses. Chronic or persistent pelvic pain affects one in seven women. In part 1 of this two-part webinar, we explored, via conversations with expert medical providers, how it takes a village of medical and clinical providers to comprehensively diagnose, treat, and manage this disabling condition. In this webinar, we'll use a series of case studies to examine and explain the interdisciplinary care of women with chronic pelvic pain. Case studies of women with endometriosis, dyspareunia, myofascial pelvic pain, pudendal neuralgia, and bladder pain syndrome will highlight clinical decision-making by PTs and OTs in diagnosing and treating chronic pelvic pain through a multimodal approach to treatment. Physical and occupational therapists working with women, primarily (though not exclusively) in outpatient rehabilitation settings, will gain skills and further their knowledge regarding their role in treating pelvic pain and gain a deeper understanding of how the interdisciplinary team supports the care of women with pelvic pain.
