Course overview

How can the sports therapist effectively and safely manage sports medicine? This course by Dr. Todd Arnold provides a detailed overview of the body's response to medication. Dr. Arnold first introduces the intimate relationship of pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics to athletic medicines and then explores how a drug interacts and passes through the athlete. Common athletic medicines are then explored in-depth, including appropriate usage and management. Common athletic skin conditions are covered alongside important information on return-to-play guidelines and other legal considerations for medication management. Through this in-depth course, Dr. Arnold will prepare the sports physical therapist to approach the effective management and understanding of athletic medicines through detailed course materials, dynamic graphics, and a question-and-answer session with physical therapist Dr. Katie Whetstone.
