Course overview

The goal of this program is to help nurses advance understanding of the mechanisms of perinatal HIV transmission, factors associated with its prevention, and related legal and ethical issues. After you study this information, you will be able to; describe ways in which HIV is transmitted from mother to infant, describe how to reduce the risk of perinatal HIV transmission, and discuss current nursing measures and medical treatments that promote stabilization of ARMD and lifestyle adaptation to the disease.
