Course overview

Activities is a Condition of Participation (CoP) for both CAH and PPS Swing Bed programs. It should be an integral part of the healing process that begins with finding out what is important, in life, to the patient. It serves as motivation, hope, and can add a lighter moment to a strenuous healing process. This webinar will review the rules while providing best practice ideas to integrate into your programs. Suggested Audience: Swing bed coordinators, occupational therapists and/or activities coordinators, key volunteers. Upon completion of this course, you should be able to: Describe swing bed activities and regulatory compliance. Review patient assessment and outcome goals for programs. Recall reasons for activities for short term programs. Provide best practice ideas for swing bed activities programs. Learning Outcome Standard: Based upon Center for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) Swing Bed Providers guidelines, and hospital based skilled nursing and swing bed program best practices.
