Based on “Empirically Based Parenting Plans: What Professionals Need to Know” (By The Parenting Plan Taskforce of the Florida Chapter of the Association of Family & Conciliation Courts. Edited by Linda Fieldstone, M.ED; Debra K. Carter, PhD; Michelle Artman-Smith, Esq.; Roxanne Permesly, LMHC). This program examines the construction of parenting plans based on empirical data related to the effect of parental participation in a child’s life and that child’s adjustment to separation and divorce. Awards 10 credits upon successful completion of the 100-question test. Participants will increase their knowledge and understanding of specific age-related research regarding children’s developmental and emotional needs and parenting plans; developmental and age-related considerations in developing parenting plans; problems in children’s adjustment to parenting plans; and special considerations when developing and maintaining parenting plans, including issues related to relocation, high-conflict families, and domestic violence and abuse.
