This course explores the research-practice gap in implementation of evidence-based (EBTs) in substance use disorder (SUD) treatment. While clinical trials focus primarily on individual therapy, the majority of SUD specialty treatment is offered in a group format. Clinicians n SUD specialty treatment settings were interviewed. They emphasized the need for flexibility in facilitating groups and explored difficulties managing complex group dynamics. The researchers give attention to the role of social inequities faced by ethnoracial minority clients.
