Course overview
Effective positioning of the hemiplegic extremity is important to reduce the risk of subluxation, contracture, and pain. Therapists and family members often have difficulty identifying an appropriate strategy to manage the limb, and inconsistencies in practice are common across all levels of care. This course will assist therapists in clinical decision-making when determining the most appropriate positioning strategies for patients with a hemiplegic upper extremity.
