Course overview
There are about 17 million adults in the United States that suffer from urinary incontinence (UI) with a large percentage of these adults being in the older population. We have the knowledge, training, and resources needed to improve the quality of life of our clients when correctly utilized. As clinicians working with older adults, it is our responsibility to do what we can to improve the quality of life for clients which is greatly affected by issues associated with urinary incontinence. This course will assist clinicians in recognizing types of urinary incontinence as well as the knowledge base we can provide to improve the quality of life for our clients. Through this course, participants will obtain the knowledge needed to effectively work as an interdisciplinary team, provide effective treatment, as well as the appropriate documentation for reimbursement for our services. Upon completion, clinicians will have the knowledge needed to implement a urinary incontinence program within their facility and educate other members of the interdisciplinary team including the clients and families.
