A complete urinalysis consists of a microscopic exam and chemical analysis, usually with a commercially made "dipstick," and a microscopic exam of the concentrated urine sediment. Laboratory professionals, nurses, and medical assistants need to be familiar with aspects of urinalysis as well as correct urine collection procedures.
