Course overview
Competency in laboratory mycology begins with proper specimen collection followed by skilled processing of samples and accurate culture identification. Safely and rapidly identifying pathogenic fungi is key for administering the correct treatment for patients with fungal infections. This course will provide an overview of mycology utilizing images to show learners the different hyphae, reproduction, and morphology of various fungi. It will also review safety precautions to prevent occupational hazards within the mycology lab.
