Course overview
This webinar was devised for veterinarians who need to understand acid base balance and interpret blood gas results related to acid base balance in horses, e.g. equine anaesthetists, equine internal medics, equine surgeons. It will cover the basics of acid-base balance in the horse and detail the 'traditional' or (Sigaard-Andersen) approach to interpreting blood gases, simple and mixed examples will be given. The focus is to get the attendees to feel confident interpreting blood gas results in their own cases. This webinar is aimed at those with a veterinary undergraduate degree, and or, another degree (e.g. nurses/technicians - who did chemistry at an advanced level at school e.g. equivalent to A-level in the UK).
