Course overview
This course focuses on a functional evidence-based approach to the examination, evaluation and treatment for pediatric patients with gait dysfunction. Through an overview of kinesiology of the pediatric gait cycle the learner will value the examination of pathological mechanisms impacting the effects of ambulation and function that contribute to limitations in activity and access to the environment. Further, a review of interventions including therapeutic exercises as well as orthotic and assistive device management provides the learner with a clinically oriented framework for the contemporary management of these patients. An eclectic set of videos, pictures, demonstrations and case studies with discussion to enhance learning, critical thinking and the application of content that can be immediately used in clinical practice.
