The aetiology of this disease is not fully understood, but it is believed that some combination of environmental and genetic factors are involved, including lifestyle factors such as tobacco use, dietary intake, and physical activity. Physiotherapists are uniquely positioned to enhance a persons quality of life by encouraging appropriate exercise and physical activities. This course, the last in a series on lifestyle medicine for Parkinsons, will discuss mind-body and exercise strategies to maintain fitness for individuals with Parkinsons. The purpose of this course is to introduce a variety of fitness strategies that are beneficial in the management of Parkinsons.
