Course overview

In this live-streamed webinar, Deborah Riczo will review special tests for pelvic girdle (PG) and sacroiliac (SI) pain, presently used in clinics, taught in DPT programs and listed in CINAHL Rehabil Guide (2017). The evidence for these special tests will be reviewed and challenged. A new algorithm of special tests utilized in the Pelvic Girdle Musculoskeletal Methods will be introduced and explained. The PGM method is in the developmental stages and has not yet been scientifically explored. We can all appreciate the importance and need for accurate and efficient special tests for use in clinical practice. Such tests are used by physiotherapists/physical therapists as first-line (primary care) providers for this population. In this webinar, Deborah will review the reliability and intended use of commonly used static and movement-based special tests for SIJ pain and pain provocation tests. She will introduce the PGM tests and the research supporting these tests. Physiopedia Plus courses are accessed through a monthly ($31) or yearly ($237) membership.
