Course overview

PURPOSE The purpose for a general assessment are to determine the patient health and physiological function, to rule out a tentative diagnosis upon a patient chief complaint, to confirm a diagnosis or medical health condition, and evaluate effectiveness of plan of care or prescribed medical treatment. TARGET AUDIENCE RN, LPN, ARNP, Physician Assistant, and other Healthcare providers OBJECTIVES Upon completion of this self read module the participants will be able to: 1. Perform a head to toe physical examination on a adult patient 2. Identify the body system that health care providers examine during a physical examination 3. Collect vital data for a complete medical history 4. Perform and record vital signs
