DEI: Achieving Greater Health Equity in Your Organization

Course overview

Ensuring health equity is critical so that all individuals have access to the services needed to promote their overall wellness. Unfortunately, multiple disparities exist within healthcare, including behavioral healthcare, that negatively impact individuals, particularly individuals from marginalized populations. This course will help you identify ways to address the persistent disparities that prevent full access to behavioral health services for diverse populations. The goal of this course is to provide health and human service professionals across contexts with a foundational awareness and understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion to better address health disparities for diverse populations. Professionals will better understand how systems work, and the role structural barriers have contributed toward inequity. Additionally, professionals will recognize the roles they play in creating new, more inclusive, and equitable organizations and practices.
