ERASE CAUTI PROGRAM

Course overview

This course focuses on the growing problem of patients admitted to facilities across the nation, urinary tract infection. The acronym ERASE instructs the clinician to be sure to follow the appropraite steps in prevent UTI's. E = Evaluate the indications - to determine that a catheter is indicated. R = read directions, to ensure that the correct application is used. A = Asseptic technique. S = secure teh catheter, as catheter securement can also contribute to complications. E = educate the patient, also include the family if appropriate.
