Course overview

Various tissues, organs, and organ systems in the human body are submitted to the histotechnologist. This presentation emphasizes normal tissue appearance on the H&E stain, and on various additional "special" stains (both immunohistochemical and nonimmunohistochemical) commonly used in the average histopathology laboratory. Tissue identification under the microscope will be emphasized. Both gross and histologic pictures will be presented. The organ systems to be discussed include
