Course overview
Cocaine dependence is a syndrome characterized by a pattern of recurrent cocaine use leading to serious adverse consequences. Dependent individuals often need markedly increased amounts of cocaine to achieve the same levels of intoxication previously achieved with lesser amounts (i.e., tolerance). This course focuses on a community reinforcement approach plus vouchers treatment for cocaine dependence. Learning Objectives: 1. Review a description of cocaine dependence, including a definition of the disorder, onset, and prevalence. 2. Compare a community reinforcement approach plus vouchers treatment to various treatment alternatives. 3. Review a description of the important steps and techniques for the community reinforcement approach plus vouchers treatment.
