Course overview

The goal of this program is to provide nurses with information on the rising incidence of three life-threatening endemic fungal diseases in the United States. After studying the information presented here, you will be able to name three endemic fungi of medical importance in the U.S. and describe their geographic distribution, describe the three diseases associated with dimorphic fungi, and explain why endemic fungal diseases are difficult to diagnose and treat.
