Course overview

The goal of this program is to familiarize nurses with practices and issues surrounding conditions for which newborns are commonly screened. After you study the information presented in this learning module, you will be able to; identify three conditions for which infants are commonly screened at birth, discuss the nurse's role in the screening and follow-up of infants in different healthcare settings, and name three situations that could lead to false-positive or false-negative results.
