Course overview

A complex interrelationship exists between obesity, insulin resistance, hypertension, and dyslipidemia. This constellation of symptoms is referred to as metabolic syndrome. Metabolic syndrome can lead to cardiovascular disease, morbidity, and death. This course will update the healthcare team's understanding of insulin resistance and metabolic syndrome and the implications both have on cardiometabolic health. This course will use story-based learning and review questions to promote active learning.
