After completing this educational activity, the learner will be able to complete the following objectives: Explain the difference between Alzheimer's disease and Dementia. Differentiate early, middle and late findings associated with dementia in the assessment of the patient. Identify three causes of reversible dementia. Incorporate three non-drug interventions for a dementia patient who develops behavioral problems. Outline the risk and benefits of drugs used to treat behavioral disturbances in dementia. Relate the challenges in caregiving of a dementia patient.
