Course overview

OBJECTIVES Define and differentiate between health literacy and health communication. Explain why health literacy is important and the populations most likely to experience low health literacy. Describe the best practices in health communication that can aid in improving health literacy. Describe the economic consequences of poor health literacy. Explain the disparities inherent in the health communication programs and explain how health communication may contribute to the improvement of personal/community health.
