Course overview
Underlying neural patterns that originate during our vital development period in the first year of life can have long lasting effects on our progression of functional skills later in life. The presence of unintegrated reflexes can lead to erroneous movement patterns and compensation techniques in a competition of involuntary and voluntary control. Conditions can arise from such conflicting neural patterns like toe walking in the pediatric population, skill disruption in the school-aged child and chronic conditions like back pain in the adult population. This course offers tools for detecting those underlying erroneous neural patterns, highlighting the diagnoses most often associated with reflex involvement. Participants will use these skills to direct treatment strategies learned during the course for improved therapeutic outcomes you can use right away in the clinical setting.
