A solid foundation of the most current information and considerations in treating patient with musculoskeletal related impairments and functional limitations is required for both new and seasoned orthopedic clinicians. This lecture on concussion will highlight the critical thinking process that occurs during evaluations and while developing plans of care for patients through a case-based approach. Key items in this lecture include definition, risk factors and symptoms present in specific sub-classifications and clinical profiles; pattern recognition for red flag and medical referral; systematic evaluation principles and evidence based interventions for each sub-classification and clinical profiles.
