Course overview

Students will learn about stimulant use disorders; increase understanding on diagnosing and treating substance use disorders associated with the use of cocaine and methamphetamine, and the misuse of prescription stimulants; gain additional understanding regarding clinical, medical, and social interventions developed in response to these disorders; recognize stimulant-related overdose risk factors; identify strategies for prevention of stimulant-related overdose; and review stimulant use disorders treatment modalities and techniques that help patients maintain abstinence.
