On-demand content available on April 13, 2024 (the day after the live webinar). This webinar will include science-informed, compassionate therapy tools for effectively working with suicidal clients. First, Dr. Gordon will discuss tips for talking to clients about suicidal thoughts for risk assessment purposes. Informed by research on the three-step theory of suicide (Klonsky & May, 2015), Dr. Gordon will also share strategies and resources for culturally responsive crisis planning. In addition, therapy tools aimed toward the reduction of emotional pain and distress will be described in detail. Novel approaches to hope-building and meaning-making will be featured as well. Clinicians will leave this presentation with practical tools that they can bring back to their therapy practices.
