Tracking # 20-1132442
Course overview
This course is a recording of a previously hosted live webinar event. Polling and question submission features are not available for this recording. Format and structure may differ from those of standard MedBridge courses. In recent years, the incidence of type 2 diabetes has risen significantly. This has also led to a rise in diabetes complications, as well, which can include lower limb amputation. Unfortunately, many practitioners simply don't have the experience or expertise needed to manage the implications and impact limb loss has on patients. Join us for this interactive webinar and increase your awareness and understanding about key issues and needs affecting patients with diabetes who have experienced limb loss and wear a prosthetic, including characteristics of diabetes that affect the outcome of prosthetics, unique factors in prosthetic design for patients with diabetes, and critical physical findings to be considered before designing an exercise plan. We'll also discuss how to create a tailored therapeutic exercise and education program for your patients to help them better manage their diabetes and become more proficient in using the prosthetic limbs for physical activity.
