Tracking # 20-1132890
Course overview
Caring for a person living with dementia requires a special set of skills and knowledge to provide high quality care. In this course, you will learn about dementia. You will also explore the impact of dementia on the family and learn ways to help the family address the challenges dementia can create. As you progress through this course, it is important to remember that every person is unique. They may not have all the symptoms or issues presented here. The suggested interventions may not be effective for everyone. You must use person-centered care to be effective in caring for all people living with dementia. The goal of this course is to provide non-licensed direct care professionals with knowledge of the challenges that family members face when their loved one is living with dementia and ways to cope with those challenges.
