Pharmacology of Diabetes: Oral and Injectable Agents and Insulin

Course overview

People with diabetes mellitus (DM) must take medication to help control blood glucose levels (BGLs). Understanding the mechanisms of action, dosage and administration, and current recommendations are important to know when managing patient care. While DM can affect people of all ages, this course will primarily focus on management and treatment of DM in adults. The goal of this course is to assist the healthcare team in acute care with keeping up to date with commonly used oral and injectable agents and insulin in the management of diabetes.
