Course overview

As education on the neuroscience and physiology of pain continues to improve our understanding of chronic pain, clinicians must be prepared to integrate this education with movement analysis, functional optimization and exercise prescription. This session will focus on exercise prescription, particularly exercise efforts, on chronic pain and the integration of education on pain neuroscience, expectations, and the normality of post-exercise symptoms and soreness. Case studies, complete with video demonstrations of patient education and movement analysis, will further highlight the use of pain neuroscience education as a complement to movement analysis, correction and progression of exercises. Further expanding upon this balance of education and movement analysis, the process of developing individualized rehabilitation programs will be presented for patients with chronic pain
