Course overview

This course covers the classification of various types of metabolic disorders that may be discovered through blood and urine screening tests in newborns and in older children with physical findings suggestive of metabolic disorders; discusses the physical findings, physiological abnormalities associated with specific metabolic disorders, and the laboratory testing used in the screening for, and confirmation of, metabolic disorders.
