The geriatric population is projected to increase significantly in the coming years. Learn the important role that PTs and OTs can play in promoting safety, independence, and well-being for older adults by providing therapy services in the home - the most effective way to help geriatric clients maintain independence, prevent falls, and reduce behaviors associated with dementia. Explore the benefits of providing therapy services in the home, and hot topics: home modifications, fall prevention, and behavior reduction in dementia. Examine evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Stimulation Therapy and the STEADI program and how they can be implemented in the home environment to improve patient outcomes and quality of life.
